John – The GM

(CEO)

About Me

I have over 25 years experience in the management and development of software companies. I’ve worked for the past two years helping large and small companies as a consultant through Dering & Estrada. Prior to this I was the founder/CEO/COO of ServiceBench which provided warranty and service software to fortune 500 companies such as Whirlpool, IBM, Lowes, Sony and IBM. We grew ServiceBench to over 100 people before selling the company in 2008 to NEW. Prior to that I was one of the co-founders of a custom software development company called Sideout Technologies.

Favorite Sports

Soccer and a smattering of everything else. Since joining, iFanXP, I’ve become much more of a baseball fan. I would like to learn more about Rugby and Cricket someday.

Favorite Teams

DC United, New Orleans Saints, Washington Nationals and the Wizards and Capitals because I’ve lived in the DC area almost my entire life. This season I am going to root for Liverpool because I like Luis Suarez and Chelsea because Fernando Torres is a Kaiser Chiefs fan. I’ll miss watching Blackpool since they got relegated.

Other Interests

I have a wife and three teenage daughters so outside of work and sports that keeps me pretty busy. I love my two youngest daughters’ soccer teams, the Shadows, which I am very fortunate to be able to coach. I enjoy watching live music. My favorite bands at the moment are the Kaiser Chiefs and The Sounds. I also love to travel and see the world.

Brian – The Coach

(COO)

About Me

I graduated college as an English major and after serving a volunteer year in the Pacific Northwest, landed my first paying job in the technology field (they clearly didn’t read my resume). I was a project manager for a computer based training company. I haven’t looked back since in large part because I became addicted to building something tangible with technology. My most fulfilling professional experiences have been creating green field applications along with helping grow organizations and mentoring colleagues. To be able to take a business’ vision/strategy and make it a reality/implement it through software is something I get way too fired up about.

Favorite Sports

Baseball: it’s all about the Red Sox in my house.

Favorite Teams

Red Sox Boston College Redskins Capitals

Other Interests

Spending time with my family and watching my kids group up and become sports fans in their own rite.

Heather – The Captain

(VP Product Development)

About Me

I left college with a degree in Aerospace, but other than being able to identify most military and commercial planes by sight (and sometimes sound), I never actually used that degree.  Instead, I started my career as a Customs broker and then I fell into the software business as a subject matter expert in Customs rules and regs.  After that, I moved quickly up the Product Management food chain at various organizations, meeting a lot of the iFanXP team members along the way.

Favorite Sports

My dad was a huge Redskins fan and it just became tradition to watch the games with him every Sunday.  It was the only sport watched in my household until my brother went to UVA and then UVA basketball became the other sport to watch (this was back when UVA had a good basketball team, so you can do the math, but for the record, my brother is 10 years older than me).   As an adult, I started watching other sports and have become a pretty huge hockey fan – it helps to live in a city with a good team.  And then most recently I’ve really started to dig baseball.

Favorite Teams

Capitals Nationals Redskins

Other Interests

I’m a huge fan of sleeping.  Sleeping is awesome.  Eating is also pretty awesome.  I’d like to say that I’m a runner, but I really can’t in good conscience, though I do run.  Sometimes.  Less so now than in the recent past.  I have actually run a lot of races, including a handful of half marathons and couple of full marathons.  Regardless of that I’m still much better at lounging.

Nikki – The Ref

(Technical Director)

About Me

I’ve been designing and delivering software for over 15 years. I started my career out of college as a software programmer building custom applications for consulting companies. After several years I joined Oracle consulting as an architect for some of the first Oracle CRM implementations. For last 12 years, I have spent my time specifically on designing and delivering new products as a product manager. These products covered tools for business process management automation, warranty claim submissions and higher education software. I graduated from VA Tech so I’m a big time Hokie football fan. I grew up in northern Virginia and so therefore I was born a Redskins fan. I still love listening to Sonny Jurgensen give the play by play on the radio. When it comes to football, you either root for the Skins or anyone playing against the Cowboys. I really enjoy watching baseball live as well. I like the Orioles but being in DC the Nats are quickly growing on me. Camden Yards is still the better ball park. Other than that I’ll cheer for any DC team.

Favorite Sports

Football, Football and Football. There is nothing better on a cool fall day than making a big batch a chili and watching football with some good friends. I played a lot of different sports when I was younger, basketball, softball, even a bit of bowling. But now any free time I can spare I will try and get in a golf game.

Other Interests

Besides a full time job I am married and the mother of 3 small children with their own sports interest. When we aren’t watching sports on the weekend we are shuttling kids between gymnastics, dance, soccer and Taekwondo.

Ryan – The Agent

(Marketing Manager)

About Me

I have been involved in sports my entire life. Growing up in the “amateur sports capital of the world” Indianapolis, Indiana made that very easy. I have worked in customer service and promotions for the last 20yrs. Working in major tourist destinations like Las Vegas and Orlando. As far as sports events go, I have worked for the 1987 Pan American Games, and 1991 World Gymnastics Championships; as well as numerous swimming, diving and track & field Olympic Trials, National Championships and Big 10 Championships. Now I am promoting a sports company and I LOVE IT.

Favorite Sports

I am an avid fan of the NFL, College Basketball, MLS and NHL. I do have several other guilty pleasures like NASCAR and the Olympics. Having been a competitive swimmer I always watch and stay on top of team USA in national and international events.

Favorite Teams

Of course MY Indianapolis Colts(a fan since 1984 when they moved to Indy in the middle of the nigh – Thanks, Baltimore!) and the Washington Redskins (as long as they aren’t playing the Colts), Duke Blue Devils Basketball (a fan since 1986), LA Galaxy, Washington Capitols (Indy has a developmental league – the Indianapolis Ice – which is always fun to watch for up and coming players) and all IU sporting programs since that’s my mom’s alma matter. I am a die-hard fan through thick and thin: definitely not a fair weather fan or a bandwagoner.

Other Interests

Having been involved in the entertainment industry for several years in different capacities I love going to plays, movies and theme parks (I’m a huge roller coaster enthusiast and love the older wooden coasters). I enjoy road trips and traveling with my best friend. Another joy is meeting new people and making new friends which makes this job perfect for me.
